Your Marrakech to Fes desert tour will begin at 8:00 AM. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel or riad according to your accommodation. Our journey begins by traversing the captivating High Atlas and the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260 meters high). Along the way, you will be captivated by the picturesque scenery of mud-brick Berber villages and encounter shepherds tending their flocks amidst verdant plateaus framed by snow-capped peaks. Numerous stops will be made to allow you to capture these mesmerizing vistas, stretch your legs, and savor a refreshing cup of coffee.
By noon, you will arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage village of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (six are within a walled city). This village has graced the silver screen in iconic Hollywood blockbusters such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia. Here, you will feel almost like you have returned to the days of gladiators, desert nomads, and ancient trading markets. After a guided tour through this enchanting labyrinth of narrow pathways and towering structures, you will continue your journey to Ouarzazate, often called “The Gateway to the Desert,” also known as The Hollywood of Africa. This city is home to the largest film studios in Africa.
After a leisurely lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the enchanting oasis of Skoura, home to one of Morocco’s most remarkably preserved kasbahs, Amridil. After your visit, you will travel to Kalaat M’gouna, passing through the Valley of the Roses, before arriving at your relaxing and unwinding private guesthouse in Dades Valley with an en-suite. After breakfast on the second day of your Marrakech to Fes Sahara desert tour, you will embark on a scenic drive along the road of 1001 Kasbahs to Tinghir Oasis. Along the way, you can witness the remnants of fortified villages that served as caravan roads until the early 20th century.
Upon arrival at Tinghir, formerly a military post during the French occupation, you will take a secondary road to the oasis. On the final night of our Marrakech to Fes Sahara tour, you will be served dinner under the stars while being entertained by local nomad hosts playing drums all night.
